Many of us want to love our neighbors but aren’t always sure how to make a real difference in the decisions shaping daily life in Charleston. This session offers a clear, faith-rooted introduction to advocacy at both the local level and the South State Carolina Statehouse.
We’ll break down how policy decisions are made, how everyday people can share testimony, build relationships with elected officials, and mobilize our congregations and communities. Together, we’ll explore how practicing our civic duty is part of living out our call to love, justice, and care for one another.
Led by Kenni Cummings (they/them), the Executive Director of the South Carolina Tenant Union, where they organize with renters across the state to build collective power and advance housing justice.
