Victoria Culbertson
Staff
On September 1, 2026, Victoria Culbertson will be ordained to the Transitional Diaconate in The Episcopal Church. She currently serves in a dual ministry role at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, West Ashley, and as an adjunct staff member of the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina, where she is honored to participate in the Church's mission of forming disciples, strengthening congregations, and serving the wider community.
Originally from England, Victoria Culbertson moved to South Carolina with her family at the age of nine. She was baptized in the Church of England before becoming part of Christ Church Episcopal in Greenville, where through youth ministry, she encountered Christ in a transformative way, developing a lifelong commitment to discipleship, servant leadership, and helping others grow in faith.
A graduate of Furman University and later Asbury Theological Seminary, where she earned a Master of Divinity and a Certificate in Pastoral Counseling, Victoria has spent much of her adult life serving both the Church and her community. Throughout her years of ministry, she has led Bible studies, women's ministries, prayer ministries, mission teams, parenting classes, and discipleship groups while mentoring others in their faith journeys.
Professionally, Victoria has served as a teacher, school administrator, educational leader, and business owner. She is called to ordained ministry as a shepherd who creates welcoming spaces where people can ask honest questions, experience belonging, and grow into mature disciples of Jesus Christ. She is passionate about meeting people where they are—in churches, schools, coffee shops, hospitals, and throughout the community—and helping them discover God's grace through authentic relationships, thoughtful teaching, and compassionate pastoral care. She is particularly drawn to those who have become disillusioned with the Church or who are searching for a place where they can safely explore faith and encounter the transforming love of God.
She and her husband, Billy, have been married for twenty-seven years and have three children. Together they have made Charleston their home for more than two decades, enjoying the amazing outdoor places that show the beauty of God’s creation.
As she begins ordained ministry as a transitional deacon, Victoria looks forward to serving alongside the people of St. Peter's Episcopal Church and the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina. She remains committed to following God's leading one step at a time, trusting the Holy Spirit to guide her ministry wherever she is called, and inviting others to discover the enduring hope found in Jesus Christ.
